For the Love of Gadgetry

After finally upgrading my old blogger template to the new layout thingie all I can think of is why the hell did it take me so long..

Admittedly I've become some what obsessed with the gadgetry in the layout upgrade. Now whenever I come to post I find the urge to mess around with the gadgets and widget things completely overpowering.

I've managed to justify my latest additions by means of giving them a legit purpose. They are simply for "psychomotivation". I mean given my love for making lists and crossing things off of my lists I think this would work wonderfully, least for the reading, writing and memorizing parts. The watching list was just a guilty urge with no real justifiable reasoning behind it.

I ought to get moving. I've got a real life to-do list which includes securing tickets to the screening of an arabic short in the DIFF and buying a 'turkey' for dinner tomorrow..

3ed Mubarak you guys!

Der Knochen

I suppose I should say "3ed Mubarak" to you guys, but it'd be so belated that I feel embarrassed to do so. Anyhows, even if I didnt actually type it out here, you all know I was at least thinking/hoping it ;) So yeah, I hope you guys did in fact have a wonderful 3ed =D

I wanted to share this article I read as a reminder of the virtues of fasting six days of shawwal:

Arabic Link

English Link

I know it's neither the islamic new year nor the normal new year, but I suddenly have this urge to achieve/attain/accomplish various things that I had started and never completed and things that I meant to do and never got around to. I've started a couple of lists today (hehe I really enjoy making lists and some day I hope to be able to cross them all off knowing I've completed them! Inshallah.) And with that, I declare this a month of change =)

كل عام وانتم بخير

I hope you guys all have a wonderful and enjoyable 3eed and for those of you (like me) who have exams right after - well I wish you all the best with them and I hope you ace them, Inshalla.

On another note; does anyone else feel sorry for the kharoofs this time of year?

Family..

I was talking to a classmate of mine that lives in the dorms. She goes home to Kalba (an hour or so drive from uni) for the weekends and for holidays. I was happy when the last time I talked to her (Thursday afternoon) she told me she was at home for the break. I was thinking about how empty the uni must feel with everyone gone off back home for the holiday; that was until it dawned on me that the ones who come from outside the country must still be there in the dorms. I felt bad for them, it must be pretty lonely seeing everyone go off to their families and them being the only ones left behind in the dorms. I met a couple before. They were in my Arabic class last semester. If I knew them better I’d go visit them during the break (I don’t even know which dorm building or room they are in – heck! I don’t even remember their names =X).

I had written a long rant about my family but in the end I didn’t feel better. I actually felt worse. It will suffice to say I really hate them…People say when you feel that you really hate something try to think of the positive things you can derive from the person/thing you hate. I can’t think of a positive thing these dogs are capable of and it’s pretty pathetic that I feel this most during the holy holidays.

تقبل الله منا ومنكم

3EDKUM MUBARAK! =)

3eediya Inshad.com

عيدية إنشادكم و ما أحــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــــلى
I thought mine eyes had surely decieved me when I logged onto inshad.com and found the '3eediya' they presented to the visitors/members. O_O. They put the whole of Mehrajan Kuwait 7 up for download (everything except for Bukhatir bas ma3alyhum it's enough they put everything else - wa bil eqaa3 ba3d!)
I am going to upload a couple onto a file sharing site so my dear readers can share in this unexpected pleasure;) 4shared is great for this sorta thing. I just upload and u guys can listen without having to download a thing ^_^
For any who want to download here's the link to inshad.com
El Hazard recommends:
أخت الرجـــــال - Hamad Al Jabiri
إنما أنت أنا - Osama Al Safi- sama ^_^ (sounds like a Latino beat)
تخيــــــــل - AbdalGader Gawza3 (they messed up and mislabeled Al Jabiri's song Ne9aye7 as Gawza3's Tkhayel. so for Tkhayel u have to download the file that is labeled Ne9aye7 by Al Jabiri)
Those three were amazing in their ibda3 ^_^

3eed Sa3eed =)

كل عام و أنتم بخير
I hope all of our dua, qiyaam and fasting is accepted.... Even if we didn't manage to do much this year (I'm refering to myself here). Inshalla this will be something to learn from and make us better people (still refering to myself but I won't be selfish with my dua if their are others who feel the same I do at this moment...)
Inshalla everyone will have a wonderful 3eed =)
