Wakarani II

I’m 75% convinced I must have some sorta decision making disorder. I must be the most indecisive baka in the world!

Now that I have a job the next thing is a car. Only problem is I can’t make up my mind what to get…

Firstly there's the Lexus GS 430:

Ah, the GS 430…a truly amazing car. Makes my heart flutter whenever I see it go by. Sporty and elegant at the same time, it’s the BMW 5-series rival –without the problems most 5-series owners complain about. It’s not killer expensive for a luxury car with the starting price at Dhs. 191,000 for it’s look-alike the GS 300 (difference between the GS 300 and the 430 is the 300 is 3.0 L and the 430 is 4.3 L and all the features that are optional on the 300 come as standard features in the 430…. Um, I think I’ll spare u guys the in depth details though. – aren’t I such a kind and caring blogger? Lol.) Lastly, the MPG is very reasonable, 18 in the city and 25 on the highway. The GS 300 gets 22 in the city and 30 on the highway.

Next is the Nissan Altima 3.5 SE:

The Nissan Altima 3.5 I think of as a sporty but modest GS 430 in its own way. It’s half the price of the GS at Dhs. 88,000. The 2007 editions are set to feature Intelligent Key with Push Start Ignition, Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone System, Rear View Monitor and an advanced touch-screen navigation system. The Altima 3.5’s MPG is in the same range as the GS 300, with 21 in the city and 27 on the highway. Both the GS siblings and the Altima have amazing colors to choose from. God! The choices!

Then there’s the Infinity FX 45:

A mid-sized SUV. Has a funky looking rear end but that can be overlooked. FX 45, like the altima and the GS 430, has a younger look-alike sibling ; the FX 35. The FX 45 has Bluetooth capability, parking sensors, intelligent key and DVD as standard features. Both FX 35 and FX 45 have 4-wheel drive. The sales guy mentioned the price but somehow I only remember the starting price was Dhs. 1_ _, 000. I saw a used one for sale with low mileage on it for Dhs 145,000 (No I wasn’t and am not looking to buy a used car, I just happened to see it advertised in the paper one day) so I’m guessing the price most be between Dhs. 155,000 and 140,000. It has some pretty impressive color choices as well. I especially like the Silver and the Navy Blue colors with the complimenting titanium-silver aluminum roof rails. The MPG lags a mile behind the GS 430 at 17 in the city and 24 on the highway. For that and the price I’d just go with the GS 430 except for the fact that this has 4-wheel drive…

Of course when speaking about 4-wheel drive SUVs my first love, the Nissan Patrol comes to mind:

Like the rest of Nissan’s line of cars, the Patrol got a design upgrade in 2005. I thought the design before was pretty cool but this new design has topped its predecessor. I’ve yet to find the MPG for this one but I read it’s been improved since the Patrol got its new design. Starting price is Dhs. 130,000…. Hey! It just dawned on me that it’s cheaper than the Infinity FX 45 even though it’s bigger….Weird. Oh but then again Infinity is the luxury line of Nissan, like Lexus is the luxury line of Toyota..

Wow..I understood the word 'car' from this post and the idea that you want one. The rest was gibberish to poor lil me :p (bt i read the whole thing, honest)

Let's see what i know about these cars you've listed:

Infinity - Bad, bad bad. We used to have an infinity, it looked kewl, was comfy bt there was practically no AC at the back! (i was dying). Maybe the new ones have better AC's - my bro loves 'em.

Altima - So kawaii!! One of my friends has a grey one. And you're right, so many colors!

Nissan Patrol - I *think* my bro drives one. I like it, tho his isn't automatic gear, so it hiccups its way to wherever.

Ok, so who asked for my opinion? Everyone knows I'm a dunce when it comes to the 4 wheeled metal thingamajigs.

It's ok to be indecisive bout something. And c'mon this is a car you're talking about. Not like you'll take it to the shop the next day and say : You know, I dont think I want this anymore, Red is more to my liking.

Dunno why but I've always had an infatuation with cars. Most cars I can tell just by the headlights or the window shape with out seeing its symbol or name on the back.

When I was 12 we lived in a cul-de-sack or whatever that thingy is called where once u enter u have to leave from the same street u entered by cuz the cul-de-sack is a loop shaped street. Anywayz, our house was right at the entrance so the neighbors passed by our house everytime they went in or out. In a few months I not only knew what kind of car and number plate each had but also the sound of their engine. Without going to the window I knew if it was one of the residents coming in or a foreign car. Lol I had my bros beaten ;)
So ya see BW, ur probably not ignorant on the subject as u believe urself to be - I just have abnormal knowledge about cars for a girl ;P

As for my indecisiveness, yeah it's ok to be indecisive sometimes but I'm like that about almost everything (ha it even happens in tennis sometimes, that's usually when I hesitate and then the ball flies by.)

It'd be one thing if after spending all that time deciding i was satisfied when done. Usually after choosing I always have this nagging feeling like I should have chose something else. It was like that even with my precious laptop. Spent 4 hours choosing the one I wanted and then configuring it not counting the added hour and half when the comp froze and lost my original choices and I had to choose again. Anywayz, when it was here and in my hands I heard the little voice... Maybe I should have chose the smaller one and maybe I should have gotten the stronger battery and maybe I should have gotten more memory..

In the end I decided i'll get the battery and an external hard drive thingy later on. The laptop, though kinda heavy when I have to carry it has grown on me and I don't feel like maybe I should have gotten something else. I happy with it =)

I think most definitely after I test drive those cars I might be able to make a good decision... I hope, inshalla.

Didn't know you were so into cars. In that case, what do you think of the Chevy Epica?

El Hazard said...

Chevy Epica what year? New, 2006/ 2007 y3ni?

Dragon said...

Yup, the new one.

From what I've read about it it's a good car. One of those economical things. There are a few complaints about it though. You should read up about it. It's not a popular car here every once in a while I might seen one on the road. I've never driven one though.

The Chevy Epica is in the same class with the Toyota Camry. The Toyota Camry gets rave reviews and I hear it has smooth driving blah blah blah. It's about to get a new design... Seriously BAD @$$. I'll look around for the pic and post it.

Toyota is known though for good quailty cars. and the A/C's are usually the best for this side of the world.

We got the car yesterday, and I have to tell you, I HATE IT.

Never get a car with out at least test driving it first. I guess u can always trade it in for something else... Why didn't u get the Chevy Av?

IMHO a loan is a loan so u may as well get what u want..
