I fail to understand why the hell Saudi is always doing retardedly STUPID things which not only reflect badly on all arabs but muslims and our religion as a whole. Seriously? Don't they have much bigger problems to attend to other than harrasment of someone's grandmother?? And if it wasn't retarded enough, she was supposedly just getting bread from her dead husband's nephew not having an elicit affair with an indian shop keeper (or least thats what the article says). She's 75 freakin years old, I mean COME ON?!?! How in the hell are they going to go and beat someone that old - for something so retarded? And to make matters worse, its in the news. Its no wonder they have the many problems they do..

Made In America
"What the flip?!?!" Is the first thing that came to mind when I saw the ad. Who in their bloody right mind would pay $3.99 to smell like a freakin burger, let alone a whopper???"The scent of seduction with a hint of flame-broiled meat." is how Burger King is advertising their new men's perfume. And here I thought the end of the world was near when I had to sign in to the oldest MSN messenger because the net has been acting like an ass due to "cable trouble in the mediterranean".. But back to the subject of seductive scents, I truly pity the male who goes out and secures a bottle of that stuff. Wallah what do they see us females as?! Awina we're some carnivorous animals that can be seduced by a male that smells of spray-on artificial beef patty (Not to say that we'd go for a guy that smells like real beef patty either).
The maker, campaigner and buyer of such a retarded product should all be shot.. Or better yet, doused in their ingenuity and placed in some lion/tiger/meat eating animal infested safari. Haha let them seduce the wolves and the vultures can have the leftovers!

Ramadan Mubarak Everybody!
That's what my friend said when I was telling her what went down today, she said she had heard the screams and her whole class ran out to see what was going on but she couldn't make it outside... This is what I told her: On this holy day in this holy month you will not believe what I saw today. I stepped out of one of the buildings on uni campus with my friend and there were four local girls coming in our direction from the right. They were talking pretty loudly and we initially thought they were arguing. Suddenly one of the thinner girls (I’ll call her girl #1) says something and a bigger girl (girl #2) from that group pushes her. Girl 1 got mad and came at the girl 2. She started to try and push girl 2 but girl 2 grabbed her by the bangs she had coming out of her shayla (dragged that shayla off in the process) and pushed her away knocking her things all over the floor (pencil case full of pens and books and junk went flying all over) Girl 1 fell down on all fours and started screaming this high pitched scream that I thought would break out all the windows. I didn’t think she’d get up but she did. Screamed “BAKA!” and ran at girl 2 again. Girl 2 took her punched her up a bit they exchanged some slaps. Girl 1 dragged at girl 2’s shayla and ripped at her hair. In the end she ended up on the floor again. By that time there were swarms of girls that poured out of the surrounding college buildings. The two girls were still going at it passionately. I felt a little bad for the other two girls that were with them cuz they were trying to pull their friends apart but neither wanted to be stopped (my friend asked me why didn’t I try and stop the fight since I wasn’t that far from them. To tell the truth I wasn’t much interested in getting punched, scratched or bitten by girl 1 who was going after girl 2 screaming and carrying on like a crazy jinnia.. and then too the last thing I would need was for someone to mistakenly think I had something to do with that fight and I end up getting a share of whatever those two were getting) Some male professors ran up and attempted to verbally stop the fight. They weren’t very effective since girl 1 was beyond hearing. The professors asked some girls to step in and break up the fight but I guess after witnessing girl 1’s insanity they wanted no parts. The amount of girls and professors that had gathered continued to grow. Finally after what seemed like forever (it was probably only 10mins) a female security guard came out. Wahlaylha she wasn’t even one of the big ones and couldn’t hold girl 1 down. Even after she pinned girl 1, girl 1 still managed to break loose and get a punch off on girl 2 to which girl 2 returned the punch with interest. My friend who was closer to the action than I was said girl 1 was all bloody in the mouth. By that time the crowd of students and professors was huge I could no longer see the two girls anymore so I decided it was time to get to my class – which I was by then 10 mins late for. My class was all the way on the other side of the campus but already there were girls in groups talking vividly about the fight that had just taken place and was still in progress ba3d. I heard from a friend that they had to bring in the major guards from the main building to put an end to that madness. By the end of the day there were at least 2 different versions of the fight that I heard from other people. In one of the versions it was all four of the girls who were fighting – that was completely wrong cuz the other 2 girls were clearly trying to pull their enraged friends apart. It was a bit amusing considering as I watched the crowd get bigger I imagined that each person would go and tell someone and then that someone would go tell someone else with added spice to the story and by the time it went through 4 sets of girls the story would be something way more than what it had actually been – frankly I’m surprised I haven’t heard the version where one girl pulls a knife and stabs the other one or something else drastic.

Of all the SICK things..
This has got to be the sickest.. They call it "Hopscotch to Oblivion". Sickness at it's sickest if you ask me. I kinda understand why people go and commit suicide even though it's the ultimate in giving up and they know it but sometimes things get to a point where one no longer thinks rationally anymore and if they haven't been brought up being taught that suicide is wrong and that they'll burn in hell for enternity for it then it becomes a most desirable choice and best way to get away from one's problems. I used to be very critical of people who run away from their problems by commiting suicide but recently I've had a change of mind. I'm not saying I approve of it now but if they are going to do it at least don't drag in innocent things like kiddie games and defile them with their twistedness.Thursday, May 03, 2007
Stupid People Make me MAD
When I read crap like this it really makes me ashamed to say I'm American. 75% of the world's stupidity originates from over there ( the other 20% comes from AL Mawahib Pvt School and the remaining 5% from the rest of the world). It just amazes me really and that filth calls himself a Judge? Screw him. And the rest of the stupid people who inhabit this cursed planet.

Thank God it's Thursday =)
And I thought last week was crazy! Ha ha.. HA. I have seen some sights this week and I seriously believe my eyes will never be the same again.. EVer!
One morning as I was sitting in the bus, waiting for it to pull off, I saw something quite big run into the street. It half flew, half ran. I saw wings so I knew it wasn't cat or dog but it was too big to be a normal pigeon or the other small birds one normally sees. It did it's cross run/fly thingie to the median in a very ackward way. It was now closer and I could see it was in fact a duck (cute black and white one). It was then that I noticed there were two guys chasing it. That duck worked them as it zig-zagged on and off the streets and both duck and guys were dangerously close to being hit by one of the passing by cars (there was no traffic so the cars were driving normally). Finally they chased the duck to the other side of the road out of sight. A few minutes later I saw them passby with the now captured duck. I really felt bad for the duck cuz the guy who caught it was obviously angry after having such a workout so early in the morning and was carrying the duck by its wings (ouch!).
That was the morning.. after my last class that afternoon I was walking to the school cafeteria to see if the day's menu looked appealing and I happened to pass by the lounge room. The lounge room is part of the cafeteria but instead of the normal lunch tables and chairs there are sofas and coffee tables (we're allowed to carry food in there if we want). Anywayz, for no explainable reason I decided to have a look inside as a passed.... I seriously thought my eyes had definitely seen everything when I first saw two girls "necking" (I mean that in a literal sense..they were in fact kissing each other "passionately" on the necks) on campus. But the day I peaked in the lounge room was even worse. I saw a girl actually LAYING on top of another girl! (They were with a group of other girls also sitting around on the sofas. The two guilty girls were fully clothed but it was still pretty sick to see).
The final for that day which was less than the first two but still not something I expected to see - especially not on campus - a SUV with two girls hanging on to the sides as the SUV sped down the road..
I have absolutely no doubt that the world is coming to an end....
The next morning as I walked to the bus my eyes were graced by a cat's tail - which was about 5 or 6 inches long- just laying on the floor. I considered taking a pic of it for you guys but I wouldn't wanna be flagged for such graphic depictions of "violence" on my blog.. I do wonder how that tail got detached from its owner though. It's been there in the same place for 3 days now. I see it every morning on my way to the bus.
That was the sights of this week (rather the major ones that burned themselves in my memory).. Study wise it was also pretty crazy. Some how the professors for Islamic Culture and Language Developement (hardcore British English grammar) both decided that today was the day that they definitely had to have their exams. Speech Comm exam was supposed to be on Tuesday but the Doc canceled cuz he had to invigilate another class' exam. In the end that meant Speech Comm exams fell on the next Speech Comm day - THURSDAY. So Tuesday evening was when it finally set into my thick head that I would have 3 exams come Thursday.
Couldn't make up my mind which exam I was dreading the most but Speech Comm and Language Dev were definitely in close competition. It was crazy.. one day - Wednesday- to study / prepare for 3 exams plus the weekly quiz we have in Lang. Prac.. (Even though my presentation for Speech Comm was ok and ready on Tuesday I wasn't happy with it and there was alot of room for improvement..) I had classes on Wednesday and got home at 2. Relaxed a bit and studied before I had to go to the club for tennis. Team practice and the coach was already moody with me for missing 2 days in a row (The first time I didn't feel like going and roasting in the sun cuz it was in the afternoon instead of early morning or evening. The second time I was legitimately sick and there was no way I could have gone). I carried my books got there 2 hours early (had to take my sis for skating practice) studied. practiced. studied some more till 10 pm and then finally left the club came home and studied some more till I fell asleep on my sofa with my laptop on my lap.
Before I left this morning I downloaded a few anime and J-Drama pics to add to my presentation. I studied some more in the bus. Opted to skip breakfast and cram in a couple of minutes more studying and do some last minute touchups on my slideshow. My classmate came and forced me to have something so I had one of my fave drinks (Chocolate Caramel latte thingie.. excellent source of caffeine) and a part of cheese manakish. By the time I looked at the clock again it was 5 mins to 9. No more time, islamic cul. is all the way on the other side of the campus in relation to the cafeteria I was sitting in.
Islamic wasn't that bad.. I think I might have studied enough - "might have". Next it was off to the quiz. Praise the Lord it was easy. The teacher pissed me off though. She asked a question and the answer was a word that meant to give us the wrong info when we are looking for a correct answer. She said it begins with a "M". I thought and thought and thought and the girls gave her all kinds of wrong answers. Finally I called out "misleads us to the answer" She frowned and said that none of us understood what she was trying to point out and that the answer was "Misguides".. took me a few minutes to realize that she had misunderstood what I had called out and thought I said "Ms. - leads us to the answer." (we call her Ms.). I swallowed it and decided better not to start problems over a simple misunderstanding. Lang. Prac. ended and it was off to Speech Comm exam (between each of these is only 10 mins which get used in transit to the next classroom) I was so dreading Speech Comm exam the most. I decided before I got there that I was so not going to be first. I needed time to collect myself. Thankfully when I got to the classroom one of my mates A.A.T was setting up her laptop and then she proceeded on and went first.
A.A.T is really shy and had said so in her intro presentation when we first started the course. She said lots of things in her intro speech about herself and how she feels about things. I so could relate with 95% of what she was saying I immediately took a liking to her though I was too shy myself to go and make friends with her. Anywayz, so she went first today and her speech was really good. Her presentation was of course informative (we were supposed to give informative speeches) her topic was Ice Swimming. The topic was ok and all and her presentation also looked ok but what really got me was how she presented. I could tell she was a bit nervous at the beginning (we have both done the same amount of speeches - 2 before today which made 3) but as she got into her presentation she got more and more confident and I guess that was the result of her ambition to do well. Some of my own nervousness started to melt away. If she can drum up that amount of confidence and present like that then so can I!
After A.A.T another girl went. I reviewed my flashcards (advice from the great one =P) and mentally went through my slides. The girl finished and I parted with my seat moving to the front to become the next victim..
Breath...breath. Cleared my throat (cuz last time I just started talking and ended up doing more squeaking than talking) and started with "Ohayo" (we have to start with something that would catch our audiences attention and we also have to greet them so I decided to kill two birds with one stone) I went through the mandatory brief overview of the presentation and then on to the introduction (I had placed pics of cartoons that aired here that they might have seen as kids) there were immediate gasps and suddenly the classroom was filled with nostalgic air - I had their full attention. At the beginning I kept thinking that A.A. did it and that if she could then so could I. Before I knew it, like Kath had said happens, I got really into my presentation so much so that I didn't have to look at my flashcards except for once - I actually enjoyed it. My mates also really enjoyed it. At the end of my last presentation I handed out brochure things that I had made. So one of the girls said she thought since the presentation was about anime that I'd hand out anime CDs, Lol. If I had thought about it I probably would have made some to hand out at the end.
Later one of my mates complimented me on my presentation. She said it was very good and she felt it was 'different' than the previous two presentations I gave. In the end I just needed confidence and a suitable topic I felt most comfortable with. My thanx to Kath for the topic idea, to BW for lending the manga books (visual aids get us extra points during presentations) and the biggest thanx to A.A.T.. I wish you guys all the best in ur studies - heck in everything =D
The last exam for today was Lang. Dev. I finished in about 30 mins and spent the remaining 30 revising my answers. Inshalla those answers were correct!
Gosh, it's only 11:40 PM but I'm already ready to crash.. Thank God it's THURSDAY!

OMG!
I am dying of hysterics over here... proof that folks got way too much time on their hands and hardly enough brains in their heads. Check out this news article at yahoo.
The word is so commonly used amongst us shabab whether the person we're refering to is a nigga or not that it should be considered "Pop Culture". It's so popular that there are also creative versions of it for those who may not actually be "negro". Example being "Wigga".
Rock's right though, New York has far more pressing and important problems to think about other than ppl over using the word nigga....

Senseless Cruelty
I'm not going to rant on about this, u guys can read for yourselves about James Bulger. My God. I know its really old and all (It came up as a branch off subject when I was looking up the meaning of closed circuit cameras on wikipedia. A closed circuit camera caught him walking off with his abductors.) but I still felt really sad after I read it. What a cruel world we live in...

Entering the Uni: Pt II (The Clinic)
Ok, things were definitely starting to look up. One problem, with two more days till the official holiday leave from MPS how was I going to take off to go get this physical done. Granted we weren’t doing a single bit of work in that place. Only person actually working was the cursed Mother Supreme. I suspected she doesn’t like to be the only person having to come into work so she drags the whole staff in to make herself feel better. “If I can’t stay home and relax NO ONE WILL!” I honestly believe that’s what goes through her mind. Anywayz, I decided fine I’ll tell her it’s a doc’s appointment. I haven’t asked to leave early in awhile and certainly she shouldn’t have a prob after I came in the day before and sat in the MC’s office for 6 of the 7 hours we have to stay there doing absolutely NOTHING! I had already finished grading all the exams and stuff so I legitimately had nothing to do. So I told mother to come back and get me at 9. She had told me to ask the school nurse at MPS where to get the physical done since the uni gave me a form like medical paper that they wanted the clinic/hospital to fill out so mother assumed it must be a specific place. I asked the nurse (who surprisingly was really a nice person hahahaha all that time of working in MPS and I never knew that.. ah well at least I never offended her or anything.) she told me it was done in a clinic designated for schools.
I was nervous about this physical. I had given the form a glance over. It was in formal Arabic. I know physicals can be pretty disgusting so I wanted to know what this was going to be like at least to know what to expect. I saw places to fill in the results for chest x-ray, eye test, blood test (I wasn’t surprised they were after my blood that just seems to be the norm these days, everyone so darn blood thirsty!) and finally what I was dreading and most hoping I wouldn’t see: a urine test.
I mean really, the person who thought that up must have been the sickest of the sick. That is just down right GROSS. I’d rather anywhere from 4- 10 needles if it meant foregoing that test. (and that from someone who used to have a needle phobia!)
Anywayz, we got to the school clinic (didn’t even seem like a clinic. It was more like a file keeping place, too clean to be a clinic) and they told me the X-ray, blood test and that gross test were done in another clinic about a 10 min drive away. Once the tests are done over there I was supposed to bring the results back to them and they’d stamp everything before I could take it to the uni.
Dammit I thought, this lady definitely mentioned that gross test. I was dreading the thought all the way to the second clinic. How in the hell does a person do that (and of course though I’d never done it before I knew those container things u do it in are clear SUPER GROSS) and then go and hand that to another person, Dr. or not who the hell cares?! It’s still another person.
Get to the clinic and mother informs me I’m on my own. She had to go pick up my sis. *sighs* This is for the uni…I can do this…
I get to the reception and the lady takes a look at the paper from the uni. She writes a number on a pink little card thing that the lady in the first place stapled to my paper. She then takes out 2 hard plastic tubes and a bigger plastic container (yes the thing I was dreading to see) and writes the same number that she wrote on my paper on each of those 3 things. Before she hands them to me she pulls out this roll of toilet paper. I’m like what the…?? She tears off a long sheet wads it and hands the plastic things and paper to me.
I think I just saw something traumatizing….
Lucky me I was carrying the dumb tote bag I had been carrying to MPS, I shoved all of those things in and proceeded to the first area:
Laboratory
Ha ha. There were a bunch of chairs set up cinema style facing a desk that was piled high with needles in plastic packaging, a tube holder and a hazardous waste disposer. Behind the desk sat a lady covered from head to toe (she wore a nurses white uniform with lab jacket and white scarf.) on her face she wore a white mask the kind doctors wear during surgery. So technically only her eyes showed. Her emotionless eyes seemed to be the same color as her uniform. Drained of all color by the robotic routine of her position. There were about 10 people ahead of me. I watched from the audience chairs as each scene took no less then 10 secs max from the time the lady in white called “Next” and the next victim of this mass-sticking session (like mass-production, this lady was going through ppl like a timed machine) scampered up to the empty chair beside the lady’s desk as they rolled up their sleeve and put on a brave face. The lady would then collect the dark maroon liquid delicacy, toss the victim a wet cotton ball (I assume the cotton ball was soaking in alcohol) discard the needle and empty the syringe into the tube the victim handed her while seemingly simultaneously opening the next syringe and needle and calling “next”.
I tried to look away. The deep maroon color of the blood she was collecting was enthralling yet disturbing. She finally got to me. *I am not afraid of needles. Nope not me, ha ha being afraid of those little pricks is a thing of the ancient past… I am so over needle phobia…*
I had turned my head before she stuck me. I waited and waited. Then came this sting I turned and realized the stinging was the cotton swab. I waited for her to give me a band aid. She gave me a look. I was still there and she had already finished disposing the needle and syringe. “Um, could u give me a band aid?” That just came out before I realized that she wasn’t exactly offering any (I figured she had forgotten to give one.) She gave me a look. Darn Americans…all coonies. (she didn’t say anything close to that – but I bet she was thinking it LOL) she searched around in the desk drawers and finally turned up a band aid. Handed it to me. Wow, lady’s not even going to put it on for me ::sniffles::
Yeah, that for sure has to go on the traumatizing list….
That area should have been renamed: The Lab Arena
Next stop: X-Ray Department.
There wasn’t anything too traumatizing about the X-ray area of the clinic. Sure the whole area was small, crusty and smelled like a clinic. Mostly poor people where there but there were also well off looking people there as well. As I sat in the waiting area I took in all around (it’s a habit I have. I find it easier to take in my surroundings than make small talk with whoever is nearby.) The ceiling looked like it wanted to collapse at any given moment. Cracks also ran through the walls that looked like they were crying for a new paint job. Grime stained and crusty looking like something you’d see in a documentary about a dilapidated neighborhood health center looking for a kind-hearted philanthropist to throw some thousands its way for needed renovations. My God, why do all clinics look the same? Or at least a good majority? I felt sorry for the really sick people who had no place else to go except for that clinic for treatment. A place for health care should never be in that state. Sick people feel badly enough and having to go to a place like that must depress them and depression on top of whatever is already afflicting them can’t possibly be doing them any good. In fact it might even make them worse. I’m sure of it.
Anywayz as my mind ran off in that train of thought the X-ray lady comes out. White lab jacket just like the other lady before her in the Lab Arena. This lady had a broken neck though, it was in a neck brace. She looked around. Told the ladies ahead of me they all had to strip in the row of cubby holes with a piece of material up at the front of each serving as a door. O_O No way am I stripping in something as devoid of privacy as that thing. Hell no!
The lady then looked my way as the other ladies were somewhat carrying out her orders. She threw me a hospital gown and told me I just had to take off my shirt since I wasn’t wearing a wired bra (praise the Lord above a million times over I was wearing a sports bra). X-ray took a second and it was over. Lady directed me to another area a little better enclosed than those cubbies and told me I could put back on my shirt and things there while she got the other ladies. I was racing even though I only had off my shirt, who in the hell wants to be seen in their bra?! Lucky for me the other ladies seemed to be all Chinese and hadn’t done what the lady asked. That gave me time. They didn’t seem to speak much English or Arabic and the X-ray lady was one of those short testy Filipinos that don’t like ppl fooling around. She got out there and started a yelling match. It was kinda funny in a way cuz both her and the Chinese ladies had heavy English accents and she was asking the Chinese how come if they said they understood English didn’t they do as they were told which was to strip (they had on jeans and things containing metal).
X-ray over nothing too traumatizing there except for the grime and cramped waiting area- which basically described the whole clinic.
I looked around. Nobody is actually “asking” for this last thingie. Wonder if I could just walk out and forget about it. Hell, watch that be the one reason they turn my uni application down. Grrrrrrr. I am so not going to let that happen.
I went back to the reception desk at the lab were I had gotten the thing to ask where might that be done. There was a different lady there trying to drink her tea. I think I may have grossed her out a bit. Honestly I don’t understand how anyone could open their mouth to consume anything edible in a place like that. She frowned and told me the place to do that was beside room 16 and once I was finished there I was supposed to bring it back there to the department behind her desk.
I walked up and down that place about a thousand and two times looking for room 16. Somehow during the course of that time “beside” disappeared from my mind and I was just looking for room 16 cuz that was the lab where that was to be done. To make a long story short I found “Room 16” and didn’t remember what she had said till I spotted a bathroom beside it. Super Gross. She meant the ladies room.
I pushed open the door and was immediately hit by a truckload of stink. There were three stalls in there. Each looked like they could have been their own standalone horror story. Great. Ha ha, and I’m supposed to actually go inside one of those things. PHAT CHANCE!
This is for the uni, this is for the uni…Dammit if this is the case I guess I just won’t be going to the uni!
In the end I somehow lived through that. I also figured out why the hell that lady had given that wad of toilet paper. (Not only could I not look at that but I would never have subjected the people outside to see such a horror – the paper was brilliant)
It should suffice u guys to know that I went from there directly to the store and hunted down the biggest bottle of anti-bacterial soap I could find before going straight home and drowning myself several times from head to toe in the stuff. I had to think twice before finally deciding that it’d be enough to just wash my clothes from that day a couple of times -not burning them.
That day I was most definitely TRAUMATIZED
I was nervous about this physical. I had given the form a glance over. It was in formal Arabic. I know physicals can be pretty disgusting so I wanted to know what this was going to be like at least to know what to expect. She gave me a look.

"Why?"
Why? I often ask myself after reading about or seeing with my own eyes the things mankind ( ha, these days 80% of the things man does is anything but kind!) is capable of. Like in the case of our maid who after being with us for four months made off with dhs. 1,500. Looking at her one wouldn't automatically stamp her out as a thieving, conniving, midget-chalba. (My sis swears that the lady looked sinful and shifty - but then noting such a thing one doesn't just leave their money hanging around now do they?! I'll just thank the God that it wasn't my cash ( lool I'm nearing broke - totally of my own accord though) cuz had it been I'd have had her hunted down like the animal that she is, shipped to Saudi Arabia and demanded those sinful hands, that had the nerve to touch my sacred money with, chopped right off - and while they were at it they could take off her feet as well for carrying those sinful hands to my money......Ha! who am I kidding, even if that was within my power to have carried out I could never order such a thing. Least not for that amount of money. Money in general has little value in my eyes. I'm a classic spendthrift (that's why I'm nearly broke now. Hilariously my siblings and most people think I'm loaded and have these secret piles of hidden cash - purely the result of spending instead of 'saving' or hoarding as is the case in some folks) and have tried remedying that with measuring money in terms of things I find important to me. For instance 1,500 would be 3 months worth of tennis lessons (8 classes per month) with 150 left to burn a hole in my pocket. Definitely not worth ordering bodily harm to such a sickling (don't get me wrong, what I mean is: not worth ME, myself ordering a nation-wide search for the wretch in order to inflict punishment. Whereas if she happened to be in Saudi and the authorities caught her, well then whatever punishment she got she'd deserve cuz stealing *ain't* right ). Besides I could make triple plus that in 3 months anywayz (my tennis would be safe). Not to say that I'd forgive her though...nope I'd leave her for the God - that's His job.)
Heck, where was I? Yeah, so you see all kinds of people but it's really hard to just up and mark this person as a 'Thief', 'Murderer' or even lesser things like 'liar' or 'backstabber' etc. When u hear (or they turn around and get YOU) about someone you've actually seen (or met) doing something totally shameless or appallingly bad it's like OMGWTFBBQSAUCE! Seriously.. Like that maid is one instance...another was this indian guy who was this old guy's houseboy back in our old neighborhood (here in Sharjah). For five years I used to see the same old guy sitting out in front of his house in the afternoon. Out there minding his own business enjoying a bit of fresh air. For the same five years I'd see that same indian guy (he was maybe in his late 20's or early 30's) cleaning out infront of the house or carrying water in the evening time (during ramadan) to the nearby masjid. The old guy was cheery enough, occasionally waving and smiling at anyone who happened to pass-by on foot or by car. Anywayz after we moved out of that neighborhood I'd still see him (my brothers have friends in that neighborhood and frequently go to play with them and me of course being the older sis with a license was charged with transporting them back and forth). After a couple of months I started to notice that I didn't see him anymore. Neither of them, old guy nor his indian. I meant to comment about it to my bros. It was highly unlikely that the guy moved away, but despite my intention I forgot. Weeks later, possibly even a month or two later I'm reading the daily rag and my eyes happen to fall on a murder that had been commited in that very same neighborhood. My first thought was like OMG that poor guy! Didn't take long for my bros to get the details from their friends. When realization set in it was more like my infamous OMGWTFBBQSAUCE! That indian guy was a killer! I was pretty sure on more than one occasion I had walked by that same indian on foot.... The thought that I had seen a KILLER (and yes that bloody F*** was a damn killer in case u didn't go to the link and read the story. He actually killed that poor old guy and dumped his body in a manhole!) and not just someone who happened to accidently run over some poor unfortunate with a car but an actual COLD BLOODED KILLER. Shocking. I go out remembering that and most times involuntarily find myself moving a few inches away from someone - not that I'm afraid that they'd kill me but out of fear that I could be standing next to such a corrupt spineless piece of sheemot.. In the end the question is always the same.."Why?" yeah sure that indian guy said he did it in "a moment of madness".. Like Hell he did! What constitutes "a moment of madness" ? Did that mean he didn't give sheemot for what the family (heck, he saw the old guy's grandkids, knew his wife..) would feel? The pain he'd cause them? True everyone is going to die sooner or later but I think - no I know it's much worse to have someone close to u murdered. If the old guy died on his own ( how much longer is a 70 year old going to live?! 10 years more, 20? 30? 50?! Yalla! break out the FIZZY!) the family would accept it after sometime with no regrets. But murdered by a dog-who-could-have-ran-away-if-he-was-tired of-caring-for-him?! "Why?" "Why?" "WHY?" What makes a person throw away their pride as human to commit such disturbingly WRONG acts?! True he claimed "Madness" but I'm afraid I don't believe that.. Is there such a thing as "madness" to the point where you can totally disregard all human morals and stoop to a level less than an animal?! That's his supposed excuse. (true there are some truly and mentally ill psychos out there but the majority of the time people try to claim such illness as a means of escaping the consequences of their wrong) Lesser than him is the maid's thievery. Sure if caught she'd probably start pouring out rivers of crocodile tears and between her blubbering one would barely be able to make out that she did it out of desperation for her *grown* kids back in Indonesia. Like H-E-L-L she did. She wasn't our slave. She WAS getting PAID every month. Every fil she got was totally undeserved (after her thievery of course). So again "WHY?"... Let's go lesser ( lesser in terms of how bad...stealing is definitely above murder even though it's still wrong.) than those two crimes to "breaches of friendship" (yeah sure it's not a crime punishable by any law...least not that I've heard of.) You are wondering how the heck does that have anything in common with murdering and stealing, aren't ya? Common in the fact that it's hurtful to the person(s) involved.. Murder hurts the ones around the murdered, stealing hurts the victim of theft (and in some cases those under the victim, if any) the same with breaches in friendship (backstabbing I believe some say) no one expects a 'friend' to suddenly turn on them. It has happened/ will happen to all of us at some point in life. Surprisingly not just once either.. I can say it has happened to me a few times and I can claim I've gotten over all of them but the question still remains in my mind "WHY?" Sometimes a "WHY?" can never be answered...
Getting to the point of this post (yeah now you've just uttered my OMGWTFBBQSAUCE! u can't believe that after all this I'm now getting to the point of this post) which is "Why" I so terribly wish to study Psychology and Sociology heck I'll even minor in criminal science if the chance were to present itself! Simply to find the answer to that confounded "WHY?" that eats at me everytime I see examples of humanKINDness at it's best.
Of course though if I find myself doodling away in an Interior Design major class I'll swallow my initial frustration and patiently accept it as a stepping stone towards my Ph.D in Psychology/Sociology. After all that's life, isn't it?
